This lecture explores the way the myths related to the Orisha religious ceremonies, sacred music and the divination systems of Santería have been represented in various Cuban cultural manifestations: theater, poetry, narrative, popular music and cinema. Special emphasis will be given to the presence of Santería in Cuban cultural productions from the 1980s to the present, mainly in the works of filmmakers such as Tomás Gutiérrez Alea, Juan Carlos Tabio and Humberto Solás, and in the narrative of Cristina Garcia and Flor Fernández Barrios.
