Discovering Judaism, a multi week course
Our Discovering Judaism course is ideal for non-Jews considering conversion to Judaism, non-Jews engaged or married to Jews wishing to learn more about Jewish culture, and Jews looking to amplify what they learned about Judaism as children. We'll explore the Life Cycle (events and rituals), the Holidays, Jewish History, Jewish Prayer, Torah, Talmud and Sacred Texts, Israel, Ethics, and much more. The classes will be held virtually with a component of in-person activities that offer opportunities to connect students to the Temple Emanuel community. This course is 21 sessions and will take place Sundays between 10:00 am and 11:30 am and will include an optional additional hour of learning and discussion following the weekly course. Please note that this course will be impacted by Daylight Savings, and will subsequently run 9:00 am -10:30 am after the change. Along with Rabbi Cookie Lea Olshein of Temple Emanuel of Tempe, we are proud and grateful to partner with the following spiritual leaders who will also lead as course instructors; Rabbi Devorah Marcus, Temple Emanuel of San Diego, CA Rabbi Benj Fried, Temple Emanuel of San Diego, CA Rabbi Yael Ridberg, Congregation Dor Hadash, San Diego, CA No one will be turned away for financial reasons.
