“Land of Milk & Honey” Exhibition to Open at SDSU Imperial Valley’s Steppling Art Gallery

WHAT: SDSU Imperial Valley will open its newest art exhibition, “Land of Milk & Honey,” on Friday, Oct. 13 with a special opening reception, which is also open to the public. The exhibition, which runs from Oct. 13 through Dec. 12, is brought by Luis Hernandez, co-founder of MexiCali Biennial and director of the university’s Steppling Art Gallery.
MexiCali Biennial is a contemporary visual arts organization that works to provide a platform for local underrepresented and contemporary artists. The exhibition will showcase artwork from local and regional artists inspired by the region’s agriculture and foodways. The participating artists draw inspiration from the Latinx, migrant community.
