The event will feature educational booths\, crafts/activities\, telescope viewing\, face painting\, and more. \n“We had such positive feedback from last summer’s Star Parties that we decided to expand this summer’s events to include all things science—not just space\,” said Tammy Snook\, Park Manager of the Colorado River State Historic Park. \n“The expanded focus for the event has allowed us to invite in many more partners than we have had the opportunity to work with in the past\,” said Snook. “And we are so thankful for our partners\, since without their participation we would not be able to offer this free event to our community.” \nThe Exploration Station Party will take place at the Colorado River State Historic Park\, located at 201 N. 4th Ave. The main parking for this event will be at the vacant lots on the NW corner of 1st St. and 2nd Ave. From there\, attendees can walk to the park’s back entrance at the north end of 2nd Ave. \nThe Colorado River State Historic Park is managed by the Yuma Crossing National Heritage Area Corporation (YCNHA)\, which operates as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. DESCRIPTION:Prepare for your future during Early College Admission DayStudents 18 and under eligible for reduced tuition rate of $25 per credit \nYuma\, AZ (July 24\, 2023) – High school and middle school students are invited to get a head start on their college education during Early College Admission Day at Arizona Western College. \nProspective students will have an opportunity to learn about how they can earn college credit while still in high school or middle school. During this event\, students can complete the admission process and learn about Dual and Concurrent Enrollment classes. Students 18 and under currently enrolled in a K-12 school in-person\, homeschooled program\, or online are eligible for a reduced tuition rate of only $25 per credit. \nEarly College Admission Day will be held Wednesday\, August 16\, from 4-7 p.m. in the AC (Academic Complex) Building at the AWC Yuma Campus\, 2020 S. Ave 8E. A campus map can be found here. \nTo sign up for this event\, fill out the online form at: https://forms.office.com/r/EeTXEXuCq2  \n“Start early and save big; high school students only pay $25 per credit\, which is a huge saving for parents\,” said Vanessa Lopez\, AWC Early College Program Coordinator. “The best part is that students can use these courses to obtain high school and college credit at the same time and cut down the time needed to obtain a college degree or certificate. Students can also transfer their AWC courses to a university to complete a bachelor’s degree.” \nDual Enrollment classes are offered at the following high schools: Kofa\, Cibola\, Yuma\, Gila Ridge\, Vista\, Antelope Union\, Parker\, San Luis\, Somerton\, Yuma Catholic\, Harvest\, and STEDY in a variety of academic and career and technical education areas of study. Dual Enrollment classes are offered during the regular high school day and are taught by certified high school teachers at a high school campus. \nConcurrent Enrollment courses are available to students ready to take a college-level course and interested in getting ahead in their college credits. Arizona Western College\, in partnership with local area high schools\, graduated over 60 Early College students with an Associate of Arts degree this past spring before their high school graduation. \n
