Lysistrata
Lysistrata to be presented at AWC Amphitheater
The community is invited to a production of Lysistrata presented by the Arizona Western College Visual and Performing Arts Department. Ellen McLaughlin’s modern retelling of the classic Greek comedy by Aristophanes is set in 411 B.C. In an effort to stop the seemingly endless wars, Greek women refuse love making until the men in their lives lay down their arms and proclaim peace. This play is rated PG-13 and contains adult content and language. The show will be presented March 7-10 at the AWC outdoor amphitheater, 2020 S. Ave. 8E. Preshow entertainment will be provided by BlueDotBellydance beginning at 5:30pm, with a 6:00pm curtain time for the show. While it is free to attend this event, donations will be accepted. The AWC Theatre Club will also have refreshments available for purchase. The audience should bring their own seating. The AWC Amphitheater is accessible from campus parking lots 11, 12, or 13.
