The American Legion Riders, Post 19 Present, the first annual “Helping Our Heros” Golf Tournament, at the Yuma Golf & Country Club. (3150 S Fortuna Ave, Yuma, AZ 85365)

Proceeds will go to help our local Yuma veterans in need.

Introduction to Volunteering

Colorado River State Historic Park would like to invite all interested volunteers to an Introduction to Volunteering informational session at the park on Wednesday, November 12th, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.

The park is seeking volunteers to assist with guided tours for the general public, online research assistance, maintenance assistance, and upkeep of the park’s vegetable garden.  Duties for each of the positions will vary, and no experience is required for most positions.

The informational session will introduce prospective volunteers to the park volunteer program, discuss position openings, and how to become a volunteer.  There will also be a short history of the park and an optional tour of the park grounds.

Scouting Arizona, Grand Canyon Council Honors Dan Mickles and John and Joyce Lobeck at Trail to Leadership Luncheon

Scouting Arizona will host its annual Trail to Leadership Luncheon in Yuma on Wednesday, October 29th, at the Yuma Elks Lodge. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. for this special event honoring John and Joyce Lobeck and Dan Mickles for their outstanding leadership and service to the community.

The luncheon celebrates individuals who exemplify the values of leadership, service, and dedication to youth development—principles that mirror those of the Scouting movement.

There is no cost to attend, but space is limited and an RSVP is required. Guests will have the opportunity to make a contribution during the program to help keep Scouting programs in Arizona affordable for local families.
