DESCRIPTION:The City of El Centro is hosting their annual Easter Eggstravaganza this weekend.\n\n \n\nThe event is taking place at Bucklin Park from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday\, and will feature more than 12\,000 Easter eggs.\n\n \n\n“This is one of the most joyful events we host each year\,” El Centro Mayor Mike Crankshaw said. “Seeing families come together\, children running across fields in excitement and our community celebrating side by side truly shows what makes El Centro special.”\n\n\n\n\n\nIn addition to the egg hunt\, there will also be a kids zone\, food vendors\, a photo booth\, a hay ride and an appearance from the Easter Bunny.\n\n \n\nThe event is free and open to the public. DESCRIPTION:The City of El Centro is inviting the public to a Vietnam Veterans Day Ceremony from 9 a.m. to noon\, on Friday\, March 29\, at Bucklin Park. \nFriday’s event is being coordinated in collaboration with VFW Post 9305. From 9 a.m. to noon\, a video composed of photos from current VFW Post 9305 and written testimonials from local and national Vietnam Veterans will be available on a big screen TV at the event. \nThe ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. with a traditional gun salute. \n“It’s important to continue to thank our Veterans for the service they provided to our country\,” said City of El Centro Mayor Sylvia Marroquin. “Locally\, we have several Vietnam Veterans we want to honor and acknowledge for their heroic service.” \nAccording to the U.S. Department of Defense website\, the observation commemorates the service and sacrifices made by nearly 3 million service members who served in Vietnam. March 29\, 1973\, was the last day troops left Vietnam. \nMore than 58\,000 Americans were killed\, and many thousands more were wounded and injured or determined to be missing
